Huobi Pizza Day

Huobi is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. Founded in 2013, Huobi offers trading services for a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, and many others. The company is headquartered in Singapore and currently serves over 5 million users in more than 130 countries worldwide. In addition to the trading platform, Huobi also provides digital wallet and cryptocurrency mining services.

THE CHALLENGE

In May 2022, following the Bitconf event, Huobi hosted an exclusive after-party for select participants. The challenge was to create communication that would convince the audience to leave a content-heavy event and join a more relaxed environment conducive to potential networking.

BENCHMARK

The main direction I received was to connect the event with the theme of PIZZA. In 2010, a user on the Bitcointalk.org forum received 10,000 Bitcoins for the delivery of two pizzas, an event known as “Bitcoin Pizza” and remembered as one of the first documented transactions involving Bitcoins.

Additionally, I also needed to connect the materials with the language of technology, innovation, and cyberpunk, as highlighted by the client in the briefing. Therefore, I began the research phase, gathering as many elements as possible to compose the identity.

execution

I started the project by conceptualizing the visual representation of the pizza. It is the main element and is repeated throughout all the pieces, so it would have a prominent presence. At the same time, we couldn’t simply have a regular pizza representing a WEB3 event. That’s why I chose to create the pizza with unconventional colors and replace its toppings with famous cryptocurrencies.

Moreover, especially for the backdrop, I needed to explore crypto world references to generate interest from people. The idea was to make the audience connect with those images and take photos, thus organically promoting the brand, strategically placed within the layout’s field of view.
